Earlier very few people opted for the group concept so we used to do it in one of the member's residence. First group thread ceremony was performed on 29/4/1982. It was at Samaj Kalyan Kendra. First five years it was conducted at residence of Shri B R Khanolkar, then residence of Mrs Alka Parulekar. Even the food preparations were done by our K D G B Bhagini mandal for few years. In one such function on 14th May 2003, Snehavardhak Sangh workers had to contribute for one Batu as his parents had no money. An idea of Maujibandhan Fund was thus mooted, thanks to Mr Achyut Tendolkar, who promptly gave Rs 1000/- himself. Dr Prakash Dhond (ENT) gave Rs 50000/- and the fund was named as, "Late Vasudeo Babaji Dhond Maujibandhan Fund".

Last 3/4 years group thread ceremony is conducted at Abhinav Nagar, Borivli. Mr V L Prabhu, a resident, offers his huge Bungalow for the function. All religious rites are performed by Shri Shripad Prabhu Kochrekar. Shri Natekar provides sumptuos food for the occasion. Last year around 250/300 people attended this. This included Batu, his parents, relatives and the sangh workers. Normally the Group thread ceremony is conducted in April/May. Parents of Batu's may please contact us.
